Quick and Easy Buttercream

This is a really fast buttercream recipe that I like to use in a pinch. I always have these base ingredients on hand so it is a nice go to. I love a good infused buttercream or a Swiss version but we can get into that later.
For this you will need 1/2c butter, softened
1 tbsp of a good vanilla extract (I also add a vanilla bean but that is not necessary if you don't keep them on hand)
2c sifted powdered sugar a
2 tbsp of milk or cream
The best thing is that you can make this with or without a mixer.
I used my handy Star Wars whisk to make this recipe.
I took the whisk and beat the butter a little bit to loosen it up a little. Then add the powder sugar a quarter at a time, to mix it in. Add in the vanilla and any other flavoring you choose. I have reduced down berries to a thick jam consistency and beat that in with this base mix and you can experiment with flavorings like that if you choose. If it begins to seem too stiff add some of the milk or cream to loosen it up. You want a smooth, light but thick consistency. This is what I used to fill my macarons with. Hopefully you have as much fun playing around with buttercream as I do. Enjoy.
